Burn Me Up
Adrianne
2008
Rock/Pop

On a typical northern California summer day (foggy and freezing!), I drove the windy road from San Francisco to Stinson beach to catch a seat for an Adrianne house concert. After burning a groove her 2004 10,000 Stones album from 10,000 plays on my car CD player, I was just itchin’ to buy her new release Burn Me Up.

Adrianne worked her tooshie off with the making of Burn Me Up. After leaving her major label to go indie (you go girl!) Adrianne’s hard work and our patience truly paid off. Burn Me Up is a spunky, funky combination of raw emotion and fearlessness, featuring some of her buddies (Nate and Ty from Girlyman, Derek Murphy, and the one and only Gabriel Mann) on almost every track. Her stirring vocals and dramatic guitar style make me stop what I’m doing and just sit and listen. And ain’t that the point?

The house show, by the way, was incredible.  She shared funny, personal stories behind each song along with her newfound fear of heights, which she discovered while driving those same steep narrow hills to Stinson. I think she described herself as…"scared sh*tless."

I listened to her album all the way home. Scared or not, this girl keeps on giving.

If you like Adrianne, be sure to check out her other projects: "The Rescues" I highly recommend their debut album Crazy Ever After and electro pop duo "Love Thieves."

Psst…She has an upcoming house concert in the Bay Area! Learn more about Adrianne
